Estate Sale~Flea Market~Needlework

Hello Friends!!!1

It is so sunny outside today, still cold!!! But very soon (here in Ohio) we will be getting warmer days, with lots of rain and then all the glorious color will be gifted to us!!! So excited!! I have not been out much since my double knee replacement in Oct, then the fall down my stairs, with all the bad weather I didn't want to chance another fall outside!!
But I did go to the Navarre Flea Market yesterday with friend Ella! I wanted to show you my goodies, then about a week ago, Jo Ann and I went to an Estate Sale!!!! It was a huge house full of folk art. It was amazing, and I needed way more money, lol. I was happy with what I got and Jo Ann got some great things as well.
I have also been working on some needle cases and thought I would show you a peek of my progress. I am also working on Eunice Ripley and Per Lucinda samplers in between the smalls. I love making smalls for the needlework bag, they are just so sweet~
Have a great week~
Kim~

A beautiful plate, and ironstone desert plates, lots of vintage trims and 2 old tins, some small pottery and a bunch of vintage jewelry to repurpose~~~~
Lots of old lace and crochet lace, that will be used for small needle work pillows.
Both of these cans labels say Canton Ohio, I especially love the yellow one.
Also a fan shaped milk glass vase, I had been wanting one of these for a long time!
These are the pottery dishes which I am going to use for beads.
From the estate sale, a Rebekah L Smith painted box, I love her folk art!
The front of this lovely box, so pretty.
One of the needle keeps I am working on, traced a rabbit from one of NFF fractur books and added french knots and hand dyed with Rit taupe dye. Love the fabric and grey wool!
This an old Carriage House Tomb Stone design, love it!
This metal peacock vase? I got it a while ago at One Vintage Lane in Hartville Ohio. I have used it to hold some of my scissors, It looks cool!!!!!

Gift for Joan~

Hello Friends!!!
It was Joan's Birthday last Thursday, we have been in the same stitching group for many years!! She is such a sweetie and when she gets the giggles, it is so hilarious, she is fun to be around!
Thought you might want to see the little ( 2 3/4" x 1") scissor fob I made for her, it turned out so sweet, stitched over 1 and on the back I put our initials and the year and a itty bitty flower!!!! I found the beaded trim at Hobby Lobby, it was just perfect. It made Joan smile and she loved it!
I dyed some vintage red velvet yesterday with Rit Taupe, it turned out so good, as it was the brightest red I have seen! I mean really bad, lol. Working on some applique pillows and making some strawberries, I will post a picture next time.
Hoping for some warmer days later this week!!!!

Birthday #56

Hello Friends~
OhMyGosh!!! The years have just flown by, another Birthday has come and gone. I just had to share with you what my Dear Friend JoAnn made for me. It's a paper mache box 4"high by 3" across that she covered with some awesome fabric, then she covered the lid with 2 colors of the wool. She stitched the tiny whale on 36ct over one! It is a little over 1" and just darling. Inside a sweet little ivory whale needle keeper. What a gift! I will treasure it forever, just like I do our friendship!! Thanks again JoAnn!
The next photos are of some things I have made recently, a wool applique heart pillow, by Maggie B, my first time to applique and it was alot of fun, so I plan on doing some more of that. The next 2 photos are Valentine Pillows that I stitched. dyed and sewed up and filled with walnut shells, just love the feel of the walnut shells. The next picture is a small sampler, an old Carriage House Sampling design which I will make into a needle case one of these days.
Hope life is treating you all well, and like everyone else, dreaming of Spring!!!
Thanks for visiting~

I hope you will enjoy the photos of the Thursday night stitching groups Christmas gift exchange. They are all amazing hand made gifts, made with lots of TLC. We also had a wonderful dinner at LaPizzeria, an upscale Italian restaurant where we get a banquet room for our yearly party. The food is delicious. We have such a good time.I didn't post many of the girls pictures, but couldn't resist this sweet picture of my dear friend, Ronda, who just opened the gift I made for her!!! Then Ronda and Linda, holding the rug Ronda hooked for Linda.
Stay warm my friends~

Hello Stitching Friends!

Dear Friends~

I had Double Knee Replacement on Oct 3, 2013!!!!!!! OHMYGOSH, it's brutal and a long recovery. Still working on my comeback, but then I fell down the stairs and had a setback. Needless to say, I was very lucky I didn't break a bone or damage my surgery. So, I am taking one day at a time, and being very careful!!!! I want to Thank the girls for all the cards and words of encouragement and for the delicious food. So grateful for all of you!
It has been such a long time since my last post!! Hope everyone is doing well and surviving these crazy temperatures. The gas company has been working round the clock in my neighborhood due to low gas pressure. They will be going door to door making sure everything is working properly, gas problems are never good.
The pictures posted are of the Christmas Gift exchange from the ladies in the Wed night stitching group that meet at Karen's house once a month. She has been hosting us for 20+ years, we are so thankful for her years of kindness to us. The gifts are so lovely and each one made with love!!! I am really Blessed to be a part of this group. , even though I am always finishing my project on the day of the party!!!! Every year, I tell myself I am going to do it early and then life takes over and I am down to last minute. The pictures of me are with dear Friends, Ella and JoAnn.
I have another party to post as well, check back soon~

Happy New Year & God Bless You~
Kim
