Sassy Stitchers Christmas Party 2012

Hello Dear Friends~

It has been such a long time since my last post, I have missed blogging!!And hearing from you!
Let me just say you are going to really enjoy this post!! This is the 1st stitching party of the Holiday, I am so Blessed to be in 2 groups that meet for stitching and friendship every month. This is the Thursday night group that meets every Thursday at Pat Catan's - they are kind enough to let us use their craft room. We draw names at the Christmas party to find out who we will be stitching for the following year. So much fun!
We had dinner at LaPizzaria in Canton, they serve some fabulous Italian food. We enjoy dinner and each other, then the time comes for the exchange, by then we are quite loud, talking, laughing and anticipating who has our name!!! One person starts by giving their gift to the person they got and then she gives her gift to the next person, that way we open one at a time and we all can oooh and awwww and yell out, it is crazy, we are in delirious stitching gift love!!! It's wonderful to see the happy faces!!  We know each other quite well, so we know what type of stitching each person loves and so your gift is the BOMB!!!!! lol  The giving part is amazing!!! Watching your friend open up the gift you made with love~~~ I do hope you enjoy all the pictures, oh and by the way that little candy cane made on aida!!! was a joke gift, given before the really nice gift~~~Joan was up to no good, getting a funny in, and she has a laugh that you will never forget! Love it!!

Merry Christmas & God Bless~

Road Trip to Favorite Framer

Hello Friends~

It has been such a long time since my last post. Hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather. I wanted to share a few pictures of the last road trip I went on with Bethany (JoAnn Hoffman's Daughter) JoAnn Roll, Rhonda, JoAnn Hoffman and myself.  Our first stop was to The Crafty Ewe, no pictures there as we were in fabric heaven, buying fabric like it was the last we would ever see!! LOL If you're looking for a certain fabric, give them a call. Their selection is awesome.

Then our next stop was to Just Stitching, We are crazy about the framer there, Bonnie. She has an eye for framing that is just out of this world. Both of these shops are up in Cleveland, and well worth our drive.

Then we drove to Montrose, to let Rhonda run into Old Navy for a capri buy, then we stopped at Mally's Chocolates, then lunch at EarthFare. It was a great day with wonderful stitching friends.

I'll be posting a day at JoAnn Hoffman's house where we stitched, ate, laughed and Bethany did some hand dying of fabrics we brought along with us. Bethany lives in Florida and she was here in Ohio visiting her Mom, we try to see her as much as we can while she is in town. She is like her Mom, a very skilled needle
woman, making wonderful samplers as well.

Best Wishes~
Kim

Here is the famous Bonnie, the woman who frames many of our needlework pieces. She comes into Just Stitching to meet with her clients. JoAnn and Rhonda are in deep decision thinking!!!!!

Here is Bonnie with JoAnn Hoffman, who only stitches reproduction samplers. She is an amazing needle woman, at a young 83, I can only dream of doing some of the pieces she has done!!! We adore JoAnn, she is a wonderful friend to many in our stitching group.

Here is JoAnn's Sampler, Ann Wragg. She has picked out a beautiful frame!!!

Karen's Christmas Party & Gift Exchange

Hello Friends~
Thought you might enjoy seeing the gifts that were exchanged at Karens annual Christmas party. This is a group of woman who have been meeting every 3rd Wed for 18+ years at Karen's house. It's a wonderful stitching group with many talented ladies. Sweet friendships have formed through all these years. We are very Blessed to have each other. And I am very lucky to be a part of this group!!
My husband, Jeff went to see his Dr. on Thurs, and is still not able to go back to his regular job yet, it is now going on 6 months since the accident. You never know what life will bring from day to day, but I do know God was watching over him, keeping him safe in what could have been a fatal accident.

Soon, it will be Spring!!!!

Blessings to All~

Hello Dear Friends~

It has been a long time since my last post!! Since my husbands accident~ he is doing so much better, but not back to his job yet. He is on restricted light-duty working only 6 hrs per/day. It has really taken a toll on him, not sure if he will get back to where he was before the accident~ but what I do know is that we are so Thankful he survived, that God had his hands on him and it wasn't his time to go yet.......there is a whole new vibe around here and it's all good!

Thought you would enjoy seeing the gifts that were exchanged with some of my Dear Friends from the Thursday night stitching group at our Christmas party. We had such a nice dinner together, such a good time was had by all. I am so Blessed to have these wonderful ladies in my life!! I am going to post their pictures next time!!

I have missed my blog, and all of you~

The Beauty of Fall & My Husbands Accident~

Hello Friends~

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Fall weather we are having this weekend. I am loving all the beautiful colors of the season and I am especially Thankful for my husband!!!!!

My husband was in a terrible accident last Saturday while he was delivering bread to a Mr Hero in Middleburg Hts, OH. He was standing at the counter (with his back to the window) when an elderly man crashed through the window pinning him to the counter. See the pictures below. He was taken to Metro Trama Center in downtown Cleveland. They had to cut his clothes off and his entire body shaking from shock. He ended up with a bruised pelvis and hips and a deep puncture wound. He was told he was a very lucky man. It could have been so much worse. He was in the hospital for 4 days.

I have to pack his wound twice a day, (very intense) it couldnt be stitched up because it has to heal from the inside out. He is walking now, slow but steady. The wound specialist said it would take 6-8 weeks for the wound to heal. We go to the the Dr tommorrow and I think he may need some physical therapy to get the strength back to his legs.

Not sure when he will be going back to work and it doesnt really matter, as he he is facing a long recovery, but he is still here with me and my son, and we love him very, very much. God was watching over him, keeping him safe in what could have been a fatal accident.....

Thanks to everyone for all the calls, visits and the food brought to our house!!

Hope you enjoy the other pictures I posted!!!!

Best Wishes Always~

Kim

Here are two photos showing the SUV that crashed through the Mr Hero that hit my husband and pinned him to the counter.

A little bit of Fall Decor!!! Lori Baker Teddy Bear & Squirrel pin cushions, fabric pumpkins and needlepunch pillow made by Primitive Betty!!!

I adore Mums!!!!

This is a Stacy Nash pattern I am working on. It is one of the kits that I get from County Samplers four times a year. It will become a pillow at some point!!!!

Here's a picture of a necklace and earrings I recently made. I wanted something special for fall, so I used carnelian faceted tube beads, some handblown beads, little silver crystals, czech beads and some vintage chain. I also used some vintage chain on the earrings. I was really pleased with the finished piece!
